Dog is my copilot!

Our family loves dogs. ET and I each had one or more when we met. Fortunately, we are both "dog people" and able to bond. Lots of excellent dogs have shared our lives. This page remembers all of them. The pets of our childhoods are, of course, not here. They remain in our hearts and memories.

Meet the family dogs

Puppy Cam still

On the 19th of July, 2008, I brought Dallas Blue Hot Rod into the family. He is a great pup. I got him as a surprise for Angel and my husband Errol. He has smiled his way into all our hearts,
I'm the baby, gotta love me!
Since Boomer died, Angel has been all on her own, the Queen of the house. She still loves to be close to those she loves.
Watch it, short stuff!

These beloved family members have crossed the rainbow bridge and wait for us there

Dogs are an alarm system, a time clock and a warm welcome home. Ours provide a loud, happy greeting every night. Here, our three Great Danes are all seeing us off in the morning. That's Boomer on the left, Smokie on the right and Angel bringing up the  rear.

This is Angel demonstrating the technique that got her into this family. You can see that she knows her way around her person.

Puppy love
A Great Dane puppy is surprisingly small. In this pic our brand new Smokie and Angel make their first visit to Western Feed.

Here is a picture of Pepper, my very first Great Dane. The story of how I got him starts with a perfectly huge Black Dane in Olson Hall on the UC Davis campus and leads to Malibu, CA.

Olympian Dane Alberto Tomba
Pepper grew to be the most amazing dog ever! He was HUGE, truly a gentle giant. Kids loved Pepper, but nobody loved him more than me. The very hardest thing about Great Danes is the short expected lifespan. I miss him every day.

Once I got to know and love Pepper, it was only natural to go back to the same breeder for a companion. Shadow is the lovely Merle Dane in the center of the picture. Merle or Blue Merle is the black spotted grey coat that is often called Blue in Shelties and Cattle Dogs.

Shadow grew to be a very lovely lady. The Olympian Danes were bred for excellent personality, superb bone structure, and great heart. It was an honor to have the two of them in my life.

Dusty is the Chesapeake Bay Retriever we had for a very brief time. He crossed the Rainbow Bridge very young from unknown causes.

In loving memory of my Akita, Kenji. He grew from a tiny ball of fluff a proud and brave dog.

In November of 2007, Smokie went to puppy heaven over Thanksgiving. She was here, then gone so quickly. Bye, love, we miss you. Boomer crossed the Rainbow Bridge in May of 2008, he was 10 and his organs just gave out,.
